Worship

Worship at Crossroads follows a traditional pattern in an informal way.  We sing from the UCC New Century Hymnal and two others.  Once a month our pastor steps out of the pulpit so that the congregation can hear from one of its members in a sermon. 

 

Our communion table is open to anybody who would have sat down at the table with Jesus.  The juice is non-alcoholic so that it is accessible to all.  We celebrate communion once a month, usually on the first Sunday.

 

Worship during the school year is at 10:30.  Starting on May 30, and continuing through the summer, we worship at 9:30.

Christian Education

We have broadly graded Sunday School, which meets at 9:30 during the school year.  The very youngest class (preK through 3rd grade) meets in Dirlam Lounge.

 

The youth class (7th - 12th grade) meets in a classroom on the lower level of the chapel.

 

The adult class meets in the little chapel on the lower level.

 

Once a month we have an intergenerational Sunday School to mix things up.

 

There is also a Sunday evening group that meets at a member's house and has pie.  They usually have a book or film that they're discussing.

 

We do not have Sunday School during the summer, although we may have special events as the opportunity presents itself.
